Allied Air – Ratings and Reviews

Full Review (Allied Air)

Allied Air is a cargo airline based in Lagos, Nigeria. It operates scheduled and charter services in Nigeria and throughout Africa. Its main base is Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos. Formed in 1998, Allied Air is the result of well over fifteen years of experience of the company Founder and CEO, Val Tongo, in the aviation industry. Allied Air is a registered Nigerian company.

The company has seen steady, strategic growth, designed to capitalize on its specialist knowledge of air cargo and the Nigerian and Western African market. Allied Air owns and operates its own fleet of aircraft, mainly the 28-ton capacity Boeing 727-200 model. Other aircraft, such as the DC10-30, B747-200 and IL76 are leased as required to meet demand.

The Nigerian government set a deadline of April 30, 2007 for all airlines operating in the country to re-capitalise or be grounded, in an effort to ensure better services and safety. The airline satisfied the Nigerian Civil Aviation Authority (NCAA)’s criteria in terms of re-capitalization and was re-registered for operation.

The service provided is assisted greatly by the airline’s commitment to building their infrastructure in order to offer better efficiency and simplicity. They have their own 2000 square-meter, purpose-built, secure storage facility at Lagos Murtala Muhammed Airport where they can safely hold freight pending forwarding to destinations around the world.

Customers that currently rely on Allied Air include DHL Aviation, MTN, Halliburton, the British Embassy and the UNHCR. A number of government agencies also use Allied Air, including the Central Bank of Nigeria who have entrusted them with the air movement of high security cargo.

For speed of delivery and quality of service, it’s hard to rival Allied Air. Their clients are extremely loyal, realizing that they respect deadlines and targets, and that they make it their priority to move air freight swiftly and safely.

The combination of their regular scheduled flights and their charter facility means that they equal, if not better, the delivery times offered by their competitors.

They are trusted by many ranging from major carriers to governments, couriers and businesses to make the whole cargo delivery experience as stress-free as possible.

They never stop working – there’s someone on hand 24 hours a day, throughout the year. In addition to all the services expected from them, they provide supervision of ramp handling agents, co-ordination of off-loading equipment, transfer to cargo sheds and a check-in system for export freight. From the time consignments arrive at the airport, it’s their responsibility to ensure it gets where it’s supposed to be, safely and on time.

In order to boost their sales on a worldwide basis they have appointed ANA Aviation Services as their worldwide sales agents, they are already offering links from China, Dubai and Europe and in the near future they hope to be extending their coverage to include other areas.
